AIDA 2 Star Freediver Course
The AIDA 2* course is designed to be an introduction to freediving for students who are already comfortable in the water. You do not have to have any freediving experience – AIDA 2* is great for the complete beginner as well as those who some experience already. The course will help students develop the skills and knowledge to freedive safely.
AIDA 2* is two days duration and run over a weekend. During the weekend you'll spend half a day in the classroom, half a day in the pool and then we go out into the sea to put it all into practice.
In the classroom, we'll cover a range of topics including equipment, breathing, depth & pressure, safety and the various disciplines in freediving.
When we get to the pool, our first session of static apnea (holding your breath) will teach you proper breathing before and after a breath hold, how to train safely and effectively, and we'll teach you how to deal with rescue scenarios.
After the static session we'll look at dynamic apnea (swimming horizontally) and cover the equipment to use, proper finning technique, body position and once again we'll go over rescue scenarios.
The following day we will take our new skills into open water, where we'll learn efficient duck diving, buoyancy, equalisation, vertical swimming, buddy supervision, and of course safety and rescue procedures. After learning these skills you'll have all the tools available to you to be diving safely and comfortably to around 15-20m.
Student/Instructor ratios are kept small at 4:1 to ensure that the safest environment is given, as well as the best learning opportunities for the student.
After you successfully complete the course you will receive an AIDA 2 Star Freediver certification card which is recognised all around the world.
