Blue Water Classic Spearfishing Competition
The Blue Water Classic Spearfishing Competition is held on the northern coast of New South Wales and is an exciting event with some of Australia’s best divers striving to win the coveted title.
The blue water classic is known as being predominantly pelagic with an emphasis on sustainable spearfishing. The general consensus is that “less is more” with divers being limited to one of each specie per day, per diver.
The water temperatures are generally around 22 to 25 degrees requiring a 3mm suit, the weather conditions have a large impact on the visibility and temperature on the water however the blue water classic is held in autumn which is known for providing good weather.
The most recent Australian Bluewater Classic Spearfishing Competition was held from the 26th to the 28th of March 2010, based in Woolgoolga.
